Cleopatra's Comb (formerly Lice Help 4U) - Head Lice Info Central Cleo keeps kids in school!
Our Story

One day in the fall of 2007 as Michelle dropped her children off at school, she saw a tearful little girl getting off the school bus. Her head had been shaved.

Michelle recognized instantly that the bald head was a desperate parent's last ditch effort to rid the child of head lice. Michelle knew how difficult it was to find and destroy every one of those tiny, determined bugs.

She sympathized with both the desperate parent and the stricken child because her daughters had recently contracted lice at a slumber party and she knew how embarrassed she and her daughters had been.

Michelle had dealt with the lice herself, using non-toxic conditioners and manual removal.  She did such a thorough and successful job with her girls that friends began asking her to help with their children.

Michelle hadn't realized how many people were infested with head lice until people began referring others to her for help.

She found that even good friends had been working quietly and privately to get rid of their childrens lice. They had not only been unsuccessful, for the most part, but they didn't know what to do next or where to turn for help, and they were reluctant to disclose to anyone that their children had lice.

Now, as she watched the humiliated little girl walk past, Michelle told herself that if she EVER saw another child with a head shaved because of lice, she would create a business that could help these children.

A few weeks later she saw another distressed, shaved-headed child walking into the school. "That's it," she said. "Somehow, I'm going to help kids that have head lice!" She opened up a head-lice removal shop and in time got 501(C)(3) status.

Michelle's children have enjoyed helping her set up Cleopatra's Comb, and of course there's always time to try on a glamorous cape!
